Crowns

Crowns are placed over a tooth to improve shape and appearance and to build up strength.

They are often fitted when a tooth’s structure is weakened as they provide protection from the strong biting forces we exert when we eat.  They are frequently fitted for aesthetic reasons too.

We provide a range of crowns including highly attractive ceramics and porcelains which give a very natural looking result.  Metal crowns and porcelain bonded to metal/precious metal crowns are also available.

Bridges

Bridges restore the appearance of the mouth by replacing gaps caused by missing teeth.

The teeth on either side of a gap are used as an anchor for a bridge.  This means that a bridge is only possible when the supporting teeth are strong enough.

Conventional Bridges

To fit a conventional bridge requires the teeth either side of the gap to be prepared and have crowns fitted over them so that the artificial tooth (known as a Pontic) can be attached.

Adhesive Bridges

For adhesive bridges to be fitted almost no drilling is required as they can be made with metal or ceramic brackets which are glued to the teeth on either side of the gap to hold the false tooth in place.

They can be much cheaper and simpler than an implant and have good aesthetic results.  They work particularly well when the teeth either side of the gap are in very good shape, though they are not suitable for all gaps.
